We are excited to share that our monthly theme for February is love and inclusion. This month all of our content will focus on this theme. Our maker box members will receive their story toolkit on this theme. We are kicking off the month with a folk story from Afghanistan which is the love story of Adam Khan and Durkhanai.

Here are all the things to expect during February:

Maker Box Toolkit:

Our maker box is an activity box created for families and kids (6-14 years). On the theme of love and inclusion, they will receive – a writing journal, a postcard to make their own card, an audio story, DINO love stickers and toys, a food LOVE quick, book recommendations, and a family game! Whoa ๐Ÿ™‚ We ship from Feb 15th and you can get boxes on all our in-person events too. Don’t wait, run ๐Ÿ™‚

Kitabi Qisse: Conversations on Love

  • We will hear from children’s book author, Patrice Gopo, South-Asian Bookshop, Tokabox, South-Asian publishing house, Yalli Books, and from Urdu Mom, on the love of books, language, and heritage.
  • Award-winning writer, Betab, will talk with us LIVE on love for home on Feb 10. This is a free to attend event, but please RSVP!

FEB 24- Celebrating Holi – the festival of LOVE: If you’re in Austin, you are welcome to join the festival of love with colors, dancing, and ice cream (of course!). Children will also get free gifts, so do not miss it at the Austin Public Library, Spicewood Springs Branch ๐Ÿ™‚
