In the newest addition to Kitabi Qisse, we had a fun conversation with children’s book author Mitali Banerjee Ruths. Her books can be great additions to your kids’ book clubs! Our mini gupshup is an incredibly powerful way for Peerbagh to bring you new books from desi writers, creators, and tips that we can all know about.

More than anything else, the most common question we get is a recommendation for kids who are beginning to enjoy reading. Our Katha storytelling workshops for kids often start with storytelling and turn into kids’ book club conversations :-).

Apply for our storytelling scholarship!

Mitali has a new book coming up that adds the much-needed diversity in reading for early readers (ages 5-7) that we highly recommend! Learn what book this is by checking out the whole video interview.

Also hear about the South-Asian character that inspired Mitali in her childhood, and her recommendations if you are a struggling parent trying to get kids to read.

In fact, with these book recommendations, we also encourage you to have your kids join Katha creating their own kids’ book clubs in the process!
