Creative writing and storytelling skills!

Salma shared her tips especially for immigrant parents on what to keep in mind when raising inclusive and creative kids. Creative rebellion, pushing the boundaries, and experimentation, are all welcome. These are ways in which we can grow and evolve – both as parents and kids. As long as this is top of mind, we’re golden.

You will also find tips on new reads, movies, and other creative ideas from Salma as she shared her favorites with us.

Kitabi Qisse is a program that was created to talk books and highlight work coming from the South-Asian diaspora. Since we are still in the international month of celebrating women, we are excited to bring this interview to you. The winter-spring interviews will wrap soon. And we will restart new interviews in fall.

Creating stories that challenge stereotypes makes everyone’s world richer and more vibrant. Bringing these new stories to our community directly connects to our mission as a nonprofit. For any feedback and comments, please reach us via Instagram or comment here!
