What we care about (a lot!)

We are proudly a women-owned and run organization belonging to the South Asian diaspora. Currently, our partners and experts represent small, local experts across India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal. We welcome representation from all SAARC countries as we grow.

We’re deeply interested in collaborating with and supporting organizations, writers, non-profits, and artists of South Asian origin. Our belief in building curiosity and creativity in children (or adults!) is connected strongly with the vision of growing inclusive educational institutions. Women, LGBTQ+, and other minorities are at the forefront of our work. As an organization, we aim to promote well-being and sustainable community development.

Our work questions existing colonial narratives and is rooted in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. We also believe in living out the Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb from the subcontinent which celebrates our syncretic culture and is not split along religious lines.

How this helps the community

We help our community build generosity toward our cultural legacy and discover artistic passions. Storytelling tools and frameworks help us collectively find the creative confidence in our unique desi stories.

  • Cultural knowledge is essential to integrate a community. We hope to rediscover oral and documented South Asian storytelling with creators and our community.
  • We show our members why they must care – stand out, and not fit in. We activate a passion for lifelong learning and teach members the tools to develop curiosity, and critical thinking, hone creative skills. This is the time to own your narratives!
  • We help South Asian parents who feel unseen experience a sense of belonging. .
