Today, during our biannual board meeting, Peerbagh proudly welcomed Vishal Verma as our new board chair. The board unanimously voted for Verma, who will serve a one-year term for the 2024-25 season, with the position up for reelection next year. With his extensive background in theater, finance, and entrepreneurship, Verma is well-equipped to guide Peerbagh into its next phase of planning and community service.
Peerbagh’s new board members
This announcement follows the passing of Peerbagh’s founder and inaugural board chair, Vatsala, in May this year. In addition to the new chair, the board is excited to announce the addition of two new members: Dr. Pasha M. Khan and Dushyant Wadivkar. Dr. Khan, an assistant professor at McGill University in Montreal, brings invaluable expertise in South Asian languages and storytelling, promising to enrich the board’s insights. Dushyant Wadivkar, an automotive executive and newly published children’s book author, will contribute his knowledge in product and technology, including AI, to help Peerbagh explore future digital offerings.
“After Vatsala, this is the first significant shift in our board, and I am excited to welcome new members and bring in their expertise to help Peerbagh grow into an organization where we are creating for children and families,” said Upasna Kakroo, CEO of Peerbagh. “I look forward to working closely with the entire board, especially Vishal in his position as our new board chair.”
