We are excited that Peerbagh will be at the Austin Public Library’s Spicewood Springs Branch on October 28th. We will be a part of and celebrating the South-Asian Heritage Day. Families will be able to enjoy a mini-Ramleela and Ravan’s Lost Boon Katha performance. This is a unique way to celebrate South-Asian culture and Diwali stories with the entire family.

Families and kids will also get together to make some Diwali Greeting Cards and can win signed book giveaways!

The event is FREE for families to attend, but please RSVP, so we can plan for your book giveaways and supplies.

The event is FREE to attend for all families. And all ages are welcome to join us in celebrating our folktales and unique cultural heritage. The performance will be held from 3-4pm in the library. But the event itself will begin at 11am and will have tons of exciting adventures including Samosas, Henna, and stories from local writers!

In order for families in South-Austin to also find this festival accessible, we will be hosting another session at Austin Public Library’s, Hampton branch at Convict Hill on October 28th. This will be a part of the Katha series organized between September 28th- November 2nd.

To celebrate South-Asian culture and Diwali stories with the entire family is closely related to our mission. This is one way parents can share cultural nuggets without having to think about where to begin. Songs, music, and activities are attractive to all kids. In this event, families will also learn how to make DIY Diwali cards, so they can bring these stories back home and share their experiences. We will also be providing gifts – including signed book giveaways as a part of the program!

Join us! It’s going to be FREE and AWESOME! 🙂
